Silk throwsters waste is produced during the production of silk yarn, and is a mass of strong, coarse fibres of varying length. It is mainly used for paper making or for effect. It is a very effective decorative fiber in felt making for hats, bags, vessels and anything else as decoration that is not next to the skin as the fibers are a little bit coarse. When the fibers are pulled apart sideways, they produce a net like effect. Because it is silk, it adheres very well to wool. I have a mixed lot of brights and pastels totalling approx 116g.
